my goal is to blog everyday for the next week or two to get me back into the swing of things. i am feeling much better so now i just need to do it!

so  a bit of random!

• So i went to the doctor last week and she told me she doesn't do ultrasounds until 25 weeks! i wanted to cry. i feel like i have been pregnant forever since i swear my test came out positive the day after conception, but i am only 14 weeks! there is a place in town that does it at 16 weeks but John says why waste the money when we can wait 9 measly more weeks to find out. uhm because i want to know yesterday not at 25 weeks. so Johnnie if your reading Please change your mind (yes i am begging lol).
• Johns work picnic was this last weekend and our prize that we won was a huge bobber for our pool that you can put sodas in John thinks it is a "conversation piece" lol
• we are having some yard work done, 2 big trees pruned as well as some bushes that are cover our entire back fence and some stuff taken out. i know we are in a recession but out of the 3 people i set up for estimates yesterday only 1 showed up (i ended up using the guy i had give me a estimate last week) ! they are doing the work today and it looks so good. it is amazing what  a little yard work will do to spruce up the place
• our pool guy is coming today to acid wash our pool then start filling it up for the summer. i cant believe it is time to start swimming soon! our pool needs to be resurfaced but figuring that is like $5000 we don't have right now we are waiting for that money tree to start sprouting.
• speaking of sprouting we are getting ready to plant our first garden, i cant wait. we are going to plant a salsa garden, lots of tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, and a few other things.
• last night i had some home schooling moms over for a informal meeting a time where we could ask each other questions and get tips and hints. i think it went well there were 8 of us here and i felt like i learned a lot. i will post more on this topic later.
• Jake is getting so big and i really need to take the bottle away. i started today with nap time well see how it goes. the kid will be 2 in June i think it is time.
• John is starting the remodel of our room this weekend! i am so excited to finally have a real bedroom!
• i have a ton of recipes i need to post on my cooking blog this week and next so check there often!

ahh a weekend wrap up

so i haven't posted in over a week. last Saturday after spring social i got sick.... really sick. i am still coughing my lungs out it is quite ridiculous! on to the weekend

the weather here in California is GORGEOUS right now! sunny but still cool and a great time for the kids to be outside. so that is what we did most of the weekend.

Friday i took the 2 oldest kids to the school for a talent show. it was MUCH better than last years show MUCH better! (i had to say that twice because it was much better ha!) any how John stayed home with the 2 younger boys a. because Jake needed to go to sleep and b. because Johnathan had a rough week at school and home. the big kids had fun and it was nice doing something with those two and my attention getting to be spent on them and not chasing a 1 year old.

Saturday was beautiful and the kids played outside almost the entire day! Jake LOVES to be outside it is his favorite thing. while they played John worked o our pool trying to get it ready for summer, patching up some funky spots on the sides. while they all did that i cleaned the boys rooms! the boys (mainly Johnathan) have not been keeping there rooms cleaned so we solved that dilemma by letting them pick what they really wanted to keep and the rest went far away from here! the funny thing was they didn't care, they actually seemed to like that there was less stuff. go figure.

that evening i went to my sisters house and visited them because my niece was in town from Idaho it was a fun girls night Liz went with me and we all went to dinner at a yummy Mexican place.

Sunday we went to church then came home and i took a FAT nap! it was so nice. we went back to my sisters house for a  BBQ it was fun both my brothers were there, my mom, my sis, and everyone's kids. good times. by the time we got home the kids were all tired so we got them ready for bed and then my 2 nieces and my nieces hubby and baby came over and we watched Taken it was SO good!

that is about it a fun busy weekend. i am hoping to spend some time in getting caught up on my cooking blog and this one but i have to wait until i can sit with out gagging for 5 minutes!

pregnancy

i just saw my little pregnancy countdown and it says i have 200 days left OH my gosh i am going to be pregnant forever still!!!!!!!!!!

The Busiest Week

i normally have pretty much no plans most weeks. seriously most of my weeks lists look like

• take kids to school
• clean
• laundry
• clean
• cook
• clean

well one week a year i have a super busy week that normally involves lots of running around, appointments, shopping etc. i am the coordinator of my church's mops group and every year we have one really big fundraiser that funds most of our year. we host a silent auction that takes months of works but all accumulates to that last week of getting all those loose ends tied up. well this week was that week.

i am normally the "emcee" (i use that term loosely because i am not that great at it but it is SO fun!) i had copies to make, donations to pick up, hair and nail appointments, i had to find something nice to wear, and as you all know i still need a nap everyday. well i only got a nap the fist 2 days of the week because there was a lot to do, a lot to set up and LOTS of emails and phone calls to answer. i feel like i have the easiest job at the event i just make sure the stuff is done but i don't have to do a ton of the leg work just a few small things and make sure everything is coordinated and runs as closely to plan as it is supposed to.

i have the most awesome group of leaders that i am so blessed to work with and they work there tails off. it is amazing that a group of 8 of us leaders, and out of that 8, 7 of us have 21 kids between us, 2 of which are nursing and 1 of us pregnant (that would be me). to know we put this kind of event together virtually flawlessly is in it self a miracle =) we get SO many donations (i think we had over 100) and, serve dinner, put together raffle baskets it is just amazing!

 

the day of the event is so busy and fun. We decorate and make the place look great (i will add in pictures once i find that dumb cord to my camera). Johnnie is awesome and takes a vacation day every year and comes and moves anything we need moved, and just helps in any way he can. then he takes me to lunch and lets me take a nap without oversleeping because i totally would.

anyhow this is turning into a long post sorry!

our event was last night and was SO successful. i am always amazed at the amount of blessings God continues to pour on this ministry and i know it is only because of him that we had such a successful night in this crazy economy. last year we sold almost 200 tickets last night we had maybe 110 women and we made almost the same amount of money! God is so good, he really is. if you don't know that let me say it again

GOD IS SO GOOD!

when we prayed before the event i prayed something like "God you know what we are going to make at this event ahead of time and we just thank you for that. you know our needs and we trust you will provide for them, let us just have a fun night of fellowship with other women...." and we did have fun, and he did provide for our group even if we made a $1 last night he still would have provided in another way and that is AWESOME! i am SO blessed to be able to part of this ministry that ministers to moms!

Saturday

today i am feeling so good! i got up and made the kids pancakes (John has a safety meeting for work so he is not here) then got to work cleaning the house. i spent a hour cleaning the kitchen alone! i even cleaned the toaster!

i have so much laundry i swear it never ends! i want to clean my entire laundry room today which is literally a whole six feet by six feet but some how is ALWAYS a mess. i took before pics to prove it is bad...

it is a beautiful day here and the kids have been playing outside in the back for the last 1.5 hours ahhhh sheer loveliness for this mom. Jake LOVES to be outside so he is having a ball, he likes to dig in the dirt such a boy.

Just thought i would update since i am feeling good hopefully i will get back into blogging now i have lots to talk about. here is a picture of Jake he likes to crawl on the table in our little nook area and eat the fruit out of the fruit bowl
